About Bree

Bree came to art therapy through her own experience of artmaking as a grounding space during the uncertainty of Melbourne’s lockdowns. In that time, the act of making—without pressure for outcome—became a place to land, to notice, and to make meaning. This lived experience continues to shape how she works: with a focus on play, curiosity, and a belief that meaning doesn’t always arrive through words.

Bree invites clients into a process where materials, gestures, and images can speak in their own language. Sometimes a mark feels familiar; sometimes it surprises. These moments can become opportunities to ask new questions. When we allow ourselves to not already know the answers we can follow the threads to find new meanings.

When people feel safe enough, they can begin to explore more freely, playfully, and at times courageously. Through this process, confidence is not something imposed from the outside, but something built through doing, noticing, and staying with what unfolds.

She has completed 176 hours of student placement working with children at Building Better Brains in Croydon, and is currently practicing at Yellow Gum Studios in Mill Park. Bree works with a range of ages, bringing a flexible and responsive approach to each individual, shaped by their unique ways of experiencing and expressing the world.

Her work is not about fixing or prescribing understanding you to be the expert in your own life. Here we make space for expression, for reflection, and for new ways of seeing.
